Carbon Footprint

CLEVEL established the Carbon Balanced Standard to enable business to communicate best practice in carbon management.  It certifies that an organisation is taking steps to measure and reduce its carbon footprint and is compensating for its remaining emissions on an annual basis.  CLEVEL provides a portfolio of social carbon reduction projects for clients to invest in.  These are verified to reduce carbon levels and all have strong social benefit to the communities who deliver the projects.

The first step is working out your carbon footprint.  Smaller organisations, not involved in manufacturing, can start straight away with the CLEVEL carbon calculator.  This has been successfully used by organisations since our first generation version was put out on the internet in 2001.  It is an easy to use tool will that will give you a good handle on your greenhouse gas emissions.

For larger and more complex organisations, we spend time with you, working out the information sources needed and developing a bespoke carbon management system, that will enable you to more easily work out your carbon footprint on an annual basis.  This is based around a bespoke spreadsheet that is passed to you at the end of the engagement, reducing the need for further consultancy.  Our approach follows that of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol a global standard, recommended by organisations like the Carbon Disclosure Project. During this first step, we also work together to identify reduction opportunities.

We also work on supply chain carbon management, and have developed a cost effective, cloud based carbon app called CSTREAM.
