CLEVEL’S Carbon + service is all about meaningful engagement within your organisation.  We help bring together a team from across your company.  We focus on carbon reduction and carbon as a metric for making sure you are moving towards being a sustainable business.  However, engagement goes beyond carbon, as your cross company team is looks at all aspects of your environmental policies to find opportunities to reduce waste, increase productivity, buy-in, and morale, share value with suppliers, employees, neighbours and customers, and tell the public about your success.

As part of getting engagement, we look at the organisational ecosystem of your business – mapping out important relationships both internally and externally – which forms a basis for involving people and identifying action points.  Your team will become familiar with the whole-system view of your company, interview key stakeholders to find out what already works, and look at the most effective and least expensive ways to roll out innovation and best practice across the organisation.

We also help identify and build a new relationship with a community project, enabling people to work together to either bring about carbon reduction in the community, or to help protect an environmental asset.  This Carbon Plus project can be local or international – depending on what your business does and where your important relationships lie.  This gives your organisation an opportunity to connect with the communities where you do business or have an impact – ensuring your impact is positive and giving your people a chance to develop themselves in the process.

During our recent work, a cross departmental team reviewed a range of possible community based projects to engage with, settling on an established local project in London which has a community energy generation and education component.  The team reported an increased understanding of their organisation, increased ability to collaborate across departmental lines, and a growing ability to lead.

Our approach is flexible and can be tailored to your own business.  It is based on a short series of half day facilitated workshops at your main site(s) and ongoing mentoring, consulting and facilitation support for your implementation team.   The method draws on the combined skills of CLEVEL’s Daren Howarth (carbon and business ecology) and Nathaniel Whitestone (coaching and team decisions).  Some of the benefits of our approach are:
